I don’t know about you, but I thought that professional photographers strictly used film cameras to take pictures. Especially when it came to snapping wedding photos. I guess I thought that because I’m kind of old school. But to my surprise, it seems that digital is becoming more of an industry standard now a days. It does not mean that photographers have done away with film cameras all together though. Some professionals prefer them over digital and vise versa. I’m guessing that it just boils down to liking what you like. And the more you like the tool that you are working with, the more comfortable you will be with it. Hence the easier you will be able to create beautiful high quality pictures.
Let’s go back to the digital cameras for a quick second. The fact that they are becoming the norm for the industry says a lot about how technology has transformed the photography game. I’ve got a friend of a friend that is a wedding photographer in Parma Ohio and he swears by digital photos. He also has a ton of great pics of marriage ceremonies on his site including a photo gallery. I provided a redirect link within this page, so you should go check it out.
Now let’s take a step back to the old school, and examine film cameras for a little bit. I think the main pull that these types of machines have on a pro is the nostalgia factor. I’ve also heard that photographers prefer loading the film into a camera instead of simply inserting a memory card. To them, touching the material and taking the action of loading the film into the camera makes it feel more “real,” and to be honest with you, if I grew up taking pictures with a film camera, I would probably feel the same exact way. I bet you there’s also something to be said about being able to develop your own photos in the darkroom. Again, it probably feels a little more “real” because it’s hands-on and it’s something that they’re touching.
I truly believe that I can go on and on talking about different models of cameras and different brands and things, but I don’t think that would be the wisest use of my time. I’ve come to realize that when it comes to taking professional photos, the type of equipment used is really up to the photographer. Taking these pictures, especially of a wedding, means just as much to the person behind the camera as it does to the bride and groom. To the photographer, these photos represent their passion, and the fact that they can take that passion and create beautiful and captivating photos is truly a work of art.
To sum it all up, I conclude that digital cameras are just as effective at capturing the beautiful moments of a wedding just as much as film does. I’ve also come to the conclusion that neither digital nor film are one above each other. The deciding factor in that vote comes from the photographer alone.
The friend that I mentioned earlier has a new camera and has taken some photos of a lawn care company. You can find the photos and the website on google by searching lawn care services elyria, or you can just click here to check them out.
